Having reviewed the very first XPERIA phone, the Windows Mobile-powered X1, back in 2008, I can safely say that the XPERIA line has now gotten a much deserved boost thanks to this particular model.
Its large 4-inch WVGA touchscreen is a welcome treat and so is its 8.1-megapixel camera and various imaging features, but the true star of the show is its Android OS complemented by the company’s proprietary Mediascape (media organizer) and Timescape (contacts aggregate) apps. The 1GHz Snapdragon processor also helps deliver a generally snappy performance.
If you want to try it out for yourself, you can check it out at the Sony Ericsson Xcite! Xsite! activation center at the Concourse Level of the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell beginning today until April 21st. It will then move to the Glorietta 4 Exhibit Lobby on the 26th of April and will remain there until the 2nd of May.
As an added treat, those who will purchase it at the said locations will get a free DVD player in the process. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is retailing with an SRP of Php32,500.00 and is available in either Sensous Black or Luster White. Given that there’s still a limited Android phone market in the Philippines, Sony Ericsson has a pretty good chance of making it big locally with the XPERIA X10 especially since its comes equipped with more than just your average set of features.
