Sony Ericsson has just announced the world’s first 12-megapixel camera phone, the Idou.
Of course, this is just an announcement and the product itself is yet to be made available, but news of a 12-megapixel camera in the works is certainly good news to hear. Aside from its outrageous megapixel rating, the Idou is expected to come with 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a Xenon flash and autofocus capabilities, and will run on a Symbian Foundation-developed OS. Sounds pretty interesting so far, but we’ll have to wait at the very least 4 months to pass by before we see it become available in the market.
For the meantime, you can check out the Idou’s microsite and this short video they’ve released to get us all excited about its release in the second half of 2009.
