This bit of news comes courtesy of Yugatech and should bring glad tidings to you Smart Bro and PLDT WeRoam subscribers out there.
According to Business Mirror report, PLDT has is in the process of upgrading to HSPA850 which basically paves the way for 7.2Mbps speed rates. They’re currently in phase 1 of the upgrade process with phase 2 expected to happen in the 3rd quarter of this year, while the last phase will take place sometime next year. With more and more 7.2Mbps capable handsets becoming available in the market, it’s good to know that you can one day finally take advantage of its high-speed data connectivity feature to the fullest. When that will exactly happen is still up in the air, but at least it’s good to know that they’re working on it already.
I wonder what Globe has on their side of the fence?
