Nokia has just announced two new handsets to bolster their GPS-enabled collection: the Nokia 6710 Navigator and the Nokia 6720 Classic.
If these two look familiar, that’s because they’re basically upgraded versions of the Nokia 6210 Navigator and the Nokia 6220 Classic. When viewed at an angle, one thing you’ll notice with these new models is that they’re now slightly curved which helps provide a better over-all feel. As far as specs go, these two are almost identical with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera complete with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash, Bluetooth, GPS, and 10.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity. The Nokia 6710 Navigator, aside from being a slider, also boasts of WiFi, TV-out functionality, and, for the very first time, active noise cancellation as well to help cut down on ambient noise.
The SRP for the Nokia 6710 Navigator is P19,860.00 while the Nokia 6720 Classic is understandably more affordable at just P13,350.00. These two probably won’t probably make heads turn like most touchscreen phones of today, but with its loaded specs and affordable price tag, one can’t dispute you’ll be getting your money’s worth with either of the two. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is being touted as the most affordable RIM smartphone to date, but how affordable is it really?
I’ve just gotten word that it’s now available on Globe and it’s free on Plan 2500. Being a high-end plan, it’s understandable why its bundled free-of-charge, but if you’re getting the BlackBerry Curve 8520 on prepaid, you’ll be happy to know that it’s retailing for just P14,995.00. Now that’s what I call an affordable BlackBerry!
