Good news folks! Thanks to Yugatech, we now know that Globe will be launching the new iPhone 3G S in the Philippines on July 31.
Reservations can be made beginning July 15 by calling their hotline number at 7301000 (211 on your Globe phone), via www.iphone3g.globe.com.ph, or visiting any Globe Business Center.
Unfortunately, pricing isn’t available yet, but nonetheless, this does give us something exciting to look forward to.

Apple has just unveiled their latest iPhone dubbed the iPhone 3GS. While it looks like a splitting image of the current iPhone 3G, make no mistake, this one packs a punch.
The iPhone 3GS comes with a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera with 30fps VGA video recording capabilities and on-device editing functionality, 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, built-in compass, hands-free voice control, and best of all, runs on the new iPhone OS 3.0. It also comes with a faster processor and an improved battery which can provide up to 12 hours talk/data time on a 2G connection (up from 10 hours), 9 hours data on Wifi (up from 6 hours), 30 hours audio (up from 24 hours), and 10 hours of video (up from 7 hours). It’ll be available in 16GB and 32GB variants, and will go on sale in the US beginning June 19. Here in the Philippines, it’ll hit the market sometime in July via Globe.

It’s still not quite the user-friendly 2G iPod Touch jailbreak many were hoping for, but it’s a good start. The Redsnow 2G iPod Touch beta jailbreak is now available and can be downloaded here for Windows, Linux, and the Mac OS X running systems. Do note though that this is still a beta so expect a few kinks here and there.
If you’re a bit hesitant to use a command line-only interface, I suggest you wait for the iPhone Dev Team to release a GUI interface-based Redsnow for you to try out on your 2G iPod Touch.
